Curtis came to us to spearhead the rebrand project for a long-time local business, E. D. Hughes Excavating, to its next iteration, Hughes Excavation. The company was prepared to not only build a new website, but also design new signage and brochures.

To build their new website, we needed to update their messaging to reflect their new brand tone. The old site had outdated content, much of it from previous management. In this next iteration, Hughes wanted to get back to their roots and refocus on serving local residents. While they do commercial projects, their heart and soul is centered around serving the people who live and work in their community. For this reason, we created content that highlighted their community involvement and volunteer services they provide.

Reimagine Research Group

Jill is a researcher, evaluator, and consultant who came to us before launching her business. After we created her logo and facilitated a photoshoot to use photos as needed, we were ready to build her website.

On her website, we used a color palette to match her logo design, ensuring her brand looked and felt the same from multiple angles. It was important to Jill that her site felt inclusive so we highlighted her collaboration partners, used photos of her family, and added a blurb about how her logo design paid homage to her Jewish roots. We felt these touches helped her site stay true to her community-centered mission.

Hephaestus Metal Works

Boone came to us to create a website that would act as his online portfolio for his metal works. He didn’t need much functionality on the site, just a way for people to inquire about his services and view his gallery.

We created a palette based on the colors in his existing logo, using red as a prominent color since he works with fire. Then, we collaborated with him to write the copy for his website. On his Contact page, we developed a custom contact form so site visitors could better inquire about his range of offerings: tool restoration, teaching, items for sale, and commissioned work.

Home Life came to us to revamp their outdated website. The year 2022 marked their 50th anniversary serving the Corvallis area, and they wanted a new website to celebrate their milestone anniversary.

The Home Life team had a robust gallery of photos and wanted their new site to visually represent the people they serve: those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. To create the content for the site, we pulled what they wanted to keep from the existing site and worked with the team to write new copy to refresh their organization’s messaging.

To create the visual tone of the site, we made a custom ombré of his brand’s color palette chosen when we developed his logo. Then, we worked with Kendon to write content for the site. As the content expert, he was a valuable part of the collaboration process, helping outline the technical content and allowing us to embellish as needed.

Deep End Analytics

After developing Kate’s logo, we built her website. Using the color palette we created during the logo development process, we planned to make her site feel organic, earthy, and inviting. Kate chose to build her website in WordPress so that the site could evolve with her business. To start, she only had a few pages planned, but knew the future would bring the need to add more pages and functionality as her services grew. Choosing WordPress as a platform set her up for design freedom in the future. With our guidance, Kate wrote most of her site’s copy, edited and optimized by us.

His new brand was already well-defined. He knew his colors and the idea for his logo. We created that logo and helped him find the right font to fit his vision. Then, we went to work building his website and integrating a landing page that led to a sales funnel to build his email list. This project was particularly fun because of the innovation involved with a sales strategy.

We started with integrating the functionality Lynne would need on her website – email collection for her newsletter, subscribing to her blog, and scheduling a call via her calendar. Then, we transferred over the copy from her old site and updated and optimized it for her new site. This project was a fun collaboration with Lynne, a copy editor and creative in the Lamplight Creatives network.

Next Chapter Mediators

Brian came to us as a retired lawyer and former Supreme Court clerk. His new venture was to start a mediation practice that would serve clients both in-person locally and nationwide virtually. Because his business was to offer virtual services, his first step was commissioning us to develop his website so he could be findable online.

We created the color palette for his website, chosen specifically to be warm, inviting, and unpretentious. Due to the nature of his business – conflict resolution – he wanted his colors to help people be at ease. Then, we designed his site to feel “modern and industrial,” another request of Brian’s. Last, we copy edited the content he submitted to us and formatted it in a way we knew would increase readability for site visitors and assist with findability in the Googlesphere.

Our go-to platform to build in is WordPress, however, Valarie wanted her website built in Squarespace. Knowing this, we obliged the request and designed her website in her preferred platform. We were also responsible for creating all the content and copy, which was crafted after an informational interview we had with her.

Torch Craf Marine - Lamplight Creatives Portfolio

We custom built his website to have similar elements as the sample site he showed us, yet adjusting them to fit his brand’s personality. We chose colors that were bold and sophisticated to match the product he makes. His mini jet boats are sleek and powerful, and have a price point that is not for everyone. Black and gold felt like a perfect color combination. This website also needed to have a multimedia component, as the owner wanted a lot of video content and a robust gallery, including live social feeds from his Instagram and YouTube to his website.

We had a ton of freedom building this site. The owner was clear that he wanted nothing to do with the process and trusted us with our vision. His goal was to have a simple website with only a few pages and limited functionality. He wasn’t building the site to collect emails or implement sales funnels, his sole purpose was to have his gallery accessible to the contractors and architects he worked with.

Knowing his gallery was the most important feature to him, we chose to create a collated gallery using keywords to serve up the photos people wanted to see. This allowed the user to personalize their experience, so if someone wanted to see his bathroom builds, they could click a button and be served up photos tagged as “bathroom.” This project also involved us going to several job sites to take pictures for use in the gallery.

Courtney wanted us to rebuild her website. Her existing site was outdated and did not have the functionality she needed. After choosing a template she liked the look and feel of, we customized that template to fit her needs. We incorporated her brand’s colors onto the site, from a palette we created for her from some of her favorite colors to use in her art. Since she was not sure how to tell her story, her build included us writing all the content for her site after an informational interview. This site was a lot of fun because of the high creativity Courtney brought to the table and her trust in us to create the site that fostered the feelings of that creativity.
