They requested that the shoot be done on location, in their lobby area that patients use and would recognize. They gave us creative control on how to stage that area and the people posing for photos. We rearranged several items in the space to fit the aesthetic they had envisioned, as shared in a mood board before the shoot. Then, we ensured that each person had similar framing, positioning, and lighting for visual consistency when their headshots would be added to the new team page.

The photos would be used on social media and their website to announce the grand opening. We mingled among the patrons and took pictures of all stages of the night; ordering, eating, conversating, and enjoying the live music. The goal was to capture the “Italian villa, garden dining experience” that owner, Cody, had designed the space to feel like.

Along with community acupuncture services, given in a group healing space, Leyna just opened a private treatment room. The private space will be used for full-body acupuncture and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. During our photoshoot, we captured images of a client receiving their facial acupuncture treatment, with their permission. Leyna wanted us to capture the relaxation and calmness her clients experience when receiving a treatment from her, so we focused on the photos maintaining the essence of the tranquility within her clinic.

We facilitated a multi-location shoot in various locations that are recognizable in Benton County, the Corvallis courthouse and Philomath museum among two of them. We had advised Helen to wear colors that coordinate with her new color palette, chosen when we began designing her campaign materials. We also had her come with several outfit changes, some more casual than others, so she would have different images for specific usages and/or messaging during her campaign.

We chose to start the photoshoot in downtown Corvallis at the museum, because the museum represents the heart of what she does – preserving who we are and where we come from. We then took advantage of the summer blooms along Corvallis’ waterfront to capture a more naturey appeal. Last, we felt it prudent to include indoor shots to round out her options for future use.

We spent several hours in various locations, including multiple outfit changes. We wanted to have enough photos to use that didn’t appear to be taken at the same time or place. We kept in mind where we planned to use the photos on Ron’s website, ensuring we had them in the right orientation – horizontal or vertical. Then we did post editing to add his brand color to the background of headshots seen on his site.
